Parent Coordinator's Message

Hello! My Name is Maria Hernandez and I am your Parent Coordinator.  I have been a part of the PS 70 Community for over 20 years, as a parent, a former graduate and a Parent Coordinator.  
 
The role of the Parent Coordinator was created 16 years ago by  the  New York City Department of Education to encourage and promote parent involvement. Our parent involvement goal is to create a welcoming environment, serve as a point of contact for families, conduct outreach to engage families in their child's education, communicate between home and school, and support and facilitate Parent Workshops.
 
I am available Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30 and  3:30 pm. Please feel free to stop by my office Room 254 to say hello. You can reach me by calling the school at 718-728-4646 X 1703.  Leave a message anytime and I will call you back as soon as possible.  You can also email me at mhernandez3@schools.nyc.gov or send a text through Remind, the quickest way to reach me. Please feel free to contact me anytime! I just ask that you never contact me starting with, "Sorry to bother you"! It's my job and I enjoy helping families.

DOE Student Accounts

To keep students connected and meeting academic requirements when learning remotely, the DOE has created student accounts for every single New York City public school student. The account gives your child access to Google Classroom and Microsoft Office 365. 

They will be able to use tools such as:

  • Google Drive
  • Google Classroom
  • Microsoft Teams
  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft PowerPoint
  • OneDrive

Find Your Student Account ID and Password

To retrieve your account ID and password:

  1. Go to Student Account Self Service

  2. Enter your 9-digit Student ID or OSIS number. (You can find it on a report card, in your NYCSA account, or call our Main Office for assistance).

  3. Enter your birthday.

  4. Click Continue.

  5. If the information you enter matches your student record, your username will be displayed. 

  6. Your student ID is your username followed by @nycstudents.net. For example, if your username is JaneD, your student account ID is JaneD@nycstudents.net.
